American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a hospital setting requiring Med/Surg and Step-down experience and a compact or OK RN license.

• Works in the 3rd Floor Overflow unit of a hospital setting
• Provides care to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex
• Med/Surg and Step-down experience required
• May be floated to any area of the hospital
• Day shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week, 3 days per week

• Active RN License (Oklahoma State Board or multistate compact eNLC) required
• Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Full date of birth and Social Security number required for consideration

• Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients, documenting responses to nursing interventions and treatments
• Assists physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Administers medications and monitors IV infusions and blood products
• Communicates care plans with patients and families, including discharge planning
• Delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered
• Returning workers may extend an assignment one time up to a total of 26 weeks, after which a 6-month separation is required before reapplying
• Credentialing and compliance deadlines are strictly enforced with no flexibility for start date changes
• 30-day written notice required for early cancellation or ending of an assignment
