American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring prior Med/Surg and Step Down experience and willingness to float throughout the hospital.

• Work in the 3rd Floor Overflow unit of a hospital setting
• Medicine specialty unit caring for patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex
• Day shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week, 3 days per week
• Floating required to any area of the hospital

• Active RN license (Oklahoma or compact eNLC) required
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Prior Med/Surg and Step Down experience required
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Basic computer skills required

• Provide direct nursing care to an assigned group of patients, including medication administration and IV/blood product management
• Document patient responses to interventions and communicate changes in condition to physicians
• Assist physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Educate patients and families on care plans, hospital procedures, and discharge planning
• Delegate tasks to support staff as needed
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
• Credentialing and compliance deadlines are strictly enforced; no push starts allowed
• Travelers must be booked at least 4 weeks from time of offer
• 30-day written notice required to cancel or end an assignment early
• Travelers may extend once for a total of 26 weeks; after that, a 6-month separation is required before reapplying
