American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Post Surgical Unit position requiring stepdown/PCU and acute care surgical floor experience.

• Post Surgical Unit (4E 61000) caring for pre- and post-operative surgical inpatients
• Patients require care for new drains, wounds, trachs, ostomies, NGT, or DHT
• Includes stepdown level care patients
• Patient ratios of 5:1 for surgical patients and 3:1 for stepdown area
• Day shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts per week
• OR candidates will not be accepted

• Active RN license (Oklahoma or multistate compact/eNLC)
• Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required
• Acute care surgical floor experience required
• Stepdown/PCU experience required
• ENT and/or transplant experience preferred
• Associate's Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
• Strong verbal, written communication, and organizational skills

• Provide nursing care to an assigned group of pre and post-surgical patients
• Document patient responses to interventions and treatments, noting changes in physician orders
• Assist physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Administer medications and manage IV infusions and blood products
• Communicate care plans with patients and families, including discharge planning
• Delegate tasks to support staff as needed
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
• Candidates must not have exceeded prior extension limits with this facility without a 6-month separation period
