American Traveler is hiring a RN for a Med/Surg Nephrology position requiring prior Med/Surg and stepdown experience plus knowledge of dialysis access care.
Details- Work on the Medicine/Nephrology unit of a hospital setting
- Care for patients with a range of health problems from simple to complex, including nephrology and dialysis patients
- Day shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week, 3 days per week
- Requires knowledge of central line care, foley care, and end of life care
- Must understand proper dialysis site care, including avoiding improper use of HD catheters or fistulas for blood draws
- Active RN license (Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or multistate compact eNLC) currently in hand
- Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
- Med/Surg and stepdown experience required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computer skills required
- Full date of birth and Social Security Number required for consideration
- Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients and document nursing interventions and treatment responses
- Assist physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
- Administer medications and monitor IV infusions and blood products
- Communicate care plans with patients and families, including discharge planning
- Delegate tasks to support staff as appropriate
- Charge nurse experience is a strong plus
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
- Credentialing and compliance deadlines are strictly enforced with no allowance for start date delays
