American Traveler is hiring a RN for a Surgical/Transplant unit requiring acute care surgical floor and stepdown/PCU experience with a compact or Oklahoma RN license.

• Works on a mixed stepdown and acute care Surgical/Transplant unit caring for post-surgical kidney, liver, and pancreas transplant patients as well as pre-transplant evaluation patients
• Patients require close monitoring for infection, rejection, and timely medication delivery
• Nurses work either Med/Surg or Stepdown assignments depending on staffing needs
• ICU nurses floated to the unit work Stepdown patients based on acuity and skill set
• This is not a PACU or OR position
• Day shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours weekly

• Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required
• Acute care surgical floor experience required
• Stepdown/PCU experience required
• ENT and/or transplant experience preferred
• Preceptor and charge experience preferred
• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required
• BSN preferred
• Full date of birth and Social Security number required for consideration

• Provide nursing care to a diverse patient population with health problems ranging from simple to complex
• Document patient responses to nursing interventions and treatments, noting all physician order changes
• Assist physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Administer medications and initiate, regulate, and monitor IV infusions and blood products
• Communicate care plans with patients and families throughout hospitalization and at discharge
• Delegate tasks to support staff as needed
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
• Credentialing and compliance deadlines are strictly enforced with no allowance for start date delays
• Extensions limited to one time for a total of 26 weeks, after which a 6-month separation is required before reapplying
