Pro Sidian seeks a Biological Sciences–Geneticist (Level 2) – Aerospace Medical Research (AMR8) headquartered near CONUS – Oklahoma City, OK to support requirements for Aerospace and Defense Sector clients.
This CONUS – Oklahoma City, OK – Biological Sciences–Geneticist (Level 2) – Aerospace Medical Research (AMR8) Contract Contingent position best aligns with the Biological Sciences–Geneticist (Level 2) Labor Category. Ideal candidates exhibit the ability to visualize, analyze, and convert data and experiences to meet performance challenges while confidently engaging in productive “Jugaad” and dialogue targeting mission success. Pro Sidian team members work to provide Government‑federal Human Capital Solutions for Aerospace Medical Research and Technical Support Services on behalf of The Civil Aerospace Medical Institute (CAMI).
Responsibilities
:
- Maintain and calibrate genetics instruments, pipettes, and equipment in compliance with ISO‑9001 requirements and internal laboratory operating procedures and maintain calibration records.
- Perform genetic laboratory work including extracting genetic material (e.g., DNA, RNA) from blood, tissue, and other biological specimens; conduct QA/QC work such as spectrophotometric analyses with accurate generation of dilution curves; and processes such as amplification and library preparation, achieving a sample success rate of at least 95%.
- Work with limited to no oversight.
- Perform literature research and laboratory testing to develop new laboratory methods.
- Conduct repetitive, precise hand‑work, including accurate pipetting of small liquid volumes.
- Maintain coherent records in a laboratory notebook and the Functional Genomics electronic laboratory information system.
- Summarize work and assist other team members in compiling data, generating charts, and documenting findings from laboratory tests.
- Write up methods in paragraph format upon request, at a quality level consistent with publication in peer‑reviewed journals.
- Obtain and maintain Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) Program certification in human subject research including Biomedical coursework, and related certification when necessary to individual projects.
- Obtain and maintain training in blood‑borne pathogens and take appropriate safety precautions (e.g., use of PPE).
- Perform human subjects work in compliance with Institutional Review Board requirements and federal regulations.
- Learn and apply new techniques and equipment as developed by the Functional Genomics team.
- Attend regular laboratory meetings of the Functional Genomics team and provide updates of work status upon request.
- Research, design, and execute experiments to accomplish objectives of the Functional Genomics team, with limited supervision.
- Provide all data, writing, and results to the Functional Genomics team.
