Overview and Responsibilities
The Chiao Lab is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to study the molecular mechanisms of cardiac aging and age-related cardiovascular disease. The lab uses mouse models to investigate the pathways involved in cardiac dysfunction and to identify potential therapeutic targets. This position will support an NIH-funded project focused on understanding the regulation and role of mitochondrial NAD transport and maintenance in the heart.
The postdoctoral fellow will contribute to experimental design, data analysis, and dissemination of findings through publications and presentations. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Plan design and conduct research experiments in alignment with project goals.
- Manage research projects including timelines, data collection, and reporting.
- Prepare manuscripts, reports, and presentations for scientific meetings and publication.
- Contribute to grant proposals and fellowship applications.
- Collaborate with lab members and external research partners.
- Ph.D. in Biological Science, Biochemistry, or a related field; M.D. or equivalent.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills to present research findings and write scientific papers.
- Previous experience in aging or cardiovascular disease research is highly desirable.
