Overview
Silver Star Construction is seeking Heavy Equipment Operators to drive/operate and control large equipment and vehicles including bulldozers, backhoes, front-end loaders, scraper/tractor pans, track hoes, motor graders, mixers, and water trucks.
Responsibilities
- Drive/operate heavy equipment listed above with safety and efficiency in mind
- Unload equipment from vehicles
- Know machine settings and adjust as necessary
- Maintain equipment functionality and perform preventive maintenance
- Keep performance records of machine functionality regularly
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections/evaluations of the equipment
Skills
Hand and foot coordination, good communication skills (oral and written), teamwork, strong critical thinking, high attention to detail, and the ability to make decisions that prevent accidents and damage to property. Physical ability to work in a strenuous environment and operate heavy equipment.
Qualifications
- Must pass background check, drug screen/physical
- Must be willing to work outdoors in extreme temperatures
- Must be able to work nights and weekends when necessary
- Must be able to work overtime when required
- Must be able to perform physical tasks (bending, standing, crouching, shoveling, etc.)
- Must adhere to safety requirements and procedures
