Traveling Cable Technician

Must have

Experience:

• Cabling:
  Proficient in running and terminating Cat5 and Cat6 network cables in commercial environments.
• Commercial‑grade CCTV installation: mounting cameras, running video/data cables, and connecting to recording systems.
• Access control hardware installation: card readers, electric strikes, control panels.
• Wireless access points: installation and configuration, proper placement for coverage.
• Scissor lifts and boom lifts safety and operation certification.
• Hand and power tools: drills, cable testers, crimping tools.
• Ability to interpret basic construction drawings and cable layouts.
• Job site safety protocols, PPE usage, fall protection.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills for coordination with other trades and supervisors.

Responsibilities:

This position involves traveling to various distribution centers, warehouses, fulfillment centers, and similar commercial sites. Technicians will perform structured cabling upgrades and new installations, including systems such as CCTV, access control, wireless access points, and network infrastructure. The role offers strong opportunities for competitive weekly pay, hands‑on experience across various sites, and potential eligibility for long‑term placement or permanent role conversion.

• Travel: “Roll‑Out” techs must start at NW Arkansas on Day 1. A hotel will be provided that night. Techs will complete orientation, obtaining necessary information before traveling.
• Assigned tools, traveling partner or team, route, and company vehicle.
• Open to full‑time travel; projects typically last 2‑3 months with possible extensions based on needs and performance.

Pay And Benefits:

Compensation: $21 hourly base + OT (10‑20 hrs) + tax‑free daily per diem $125 (administered on weekly paychecks). PM may consider higher hourly rate for lead experience.
