The City of Midwest City is accepting applications for Certified Equipment Operator I in the Line Maintenance department. Incumbent operates equipment such as trucks, tractors and mowers, dump trucks, excavation equipment & motorized rodder machinery and uses a variety of power & hand tools in the installation, repair & maintenance of City owned water distribution system & wastewater collection system & other public property.
Previous experience in the water & wastewater field preferred. Experience with excavation equipment including backhoe, track hoe, shoring equipment, confined space entry and excavation standards desired.
Must pass written portion of Class "B" CDL within 6 months of employment and must obtain Class "B" CDL w/tanker endorsement & an ODEQ Class "D" water & wastewater operator's certification within one year of employment. Must possess Oklahoma driver's license & be insurable. H.S. Grad or GED required. This position is designated as safety/security sensitive and is subject to pre-employment, reasonable suspicion and random drug and alcohol screening.
