Role Summary

Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. ONE Gas does not provide immigration‑related sponsorship for this role. You Will Do

Perform work related to non‑contact customer service orders, line locating, and leak survey (where applicable).

Drive and maintain company vehicle.

Load, Unload, And Operate Tools And Equipment Including
  • Crescent and pipe wrenches
  • Pliers and screwdrivers
  • Meters and regulators
  • Combustible gas indicators
  • Ladders
  • Carbon Monoxide Detectors
  • No Blow Equipment
  • FI Units
  • Power tools
  • Probe Bar

Assist with pipeline locating using conductive, inductive and mark by measurement.

Complete line locating procedures and maintain compliance with OKIE 811 law.

Turn gas service off, remove meters, and install electronic reader transmitters (ERTs).

Inspect, calibrate, maintain, and repair leakage survey tools and equipment as applicable.

Patrol and maintain pipeline markers.

Complete encroachment investigations as applicable.

Investigate non‑contact customer related orders.

Complete And Update Reports Including
  • Equipment maintenance reports
  • Mileage reports
  • Time sheets
  • GIS Applications
  • Gas Leaks
  • Work logs
  • Maintain various records including:
  • Orders completed
  • Miles driven
  • Customer information
  • Leak record information and maintenance work orders
  • Meter inventory
  • Leak classifications

Install, program and troubleshoot electronic reader transmitters (ERTs).

Inspect, calibrate, maintain, and repair leakage survey tools and equipment.

Perform and assist with leakage surveys on pipelines as applicable.

Regular and reliable attendance is required in performance of job.

Employee may be required to perform additional duties as assigned.

What You Will Need

Working knowledge and training related to disconnects, and gas piping.

Demonstrated ability in use, function, and maintenance of tools applicable to position.

Experience With The Application Of Basic Arithmetic
  • Addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Working knowledge of locating gas lines.

Working knowledge of transmission and distribution pipeline system operations.

Working knowledge of leakage survey procedures.

Working Knowledge And Training Relative To
  • Customer service and safety procedures
  • Customer service emergency procedures
  • Use of electronic communications and Pragma
  • CAD system (where applicable) Characteristics of natural gas
  • Basic customer service activities

Experience and knowledge of basic computer usage and applicable computer software.

Demonstrated ability to read and interpret maps, blueprints, plats, atlas pages, pipe sizing tables, flow charts, house numbers, dials, gauges, work logs, service orders, and applicable operation and repair manuals.

Demonstrated ability to read and write fluently in English.

Minimum applicable driver's license.

Lift and/or move objects weighing up to 10 pounds 10–15 times a day; up to 20 pounds 15–20 times a day; up to 40 pounds 10–15 times a day; over 50 pounds 2–3 times a week.

Climb ladders; stoop, kneel, and crawl on floors and bare ground to access, adjust, and repair gas‑fired equipment, meters, and equipment.

React immediately to emergency situations to prevent injury to self and others.

Smell odorant in natural gas.

Able to operate tools and equipment required.

Communicate and exchange information or instructions.

Visual ability to perform job duties.

Travel Over Uneven Terrain Including

mud, gravel, sand, rocks, ice, and snow

Walk, stand, kneel/stoop, and drive for extended periods.

Push spud bar in ground and extract.
