Everyone knows the pool is the coolest place to be. Join our Aquatics Team to make sure everyone can enjoy the pool in a safe and welcoming environment. Whether you’re a lifeguard, a swim instructor, or a little bit of both, you’re going to love working in aquatics at the Y because you’re helping swimmers feel confident and gain experience in the water.

No experience? No problem, we’ll train you!

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Head Swim Team Coach to lead our swim program. The ideal candidate will have a passion for swimming, a strong background in coaching, and the ability to inspire and develop athletes of all skill levels.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement training programs for the swim team.
  • Conduct regular practices and provide individual coaching to athletes.
  • Monitor and assess athlete performance and progress.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive team environment.
  • Collaborate with parents, athletes, and school administration to promote the swim program.
  • Organize and oversee swim meets and competitions.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all team members during practices and events.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Must stay current in CPR/AED/O2 and First Aid, renewed annually. (Training provided by the Y, if needed)
  • Must complete all required Annual Compliance Trainings within 30 days of hire and renewed annually.
  • Must be 16 years of age and show technical ability in swim skill instruction.
  • Proven experience as a swim coach or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of swimming techniques and training methods.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire athletes.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
