The Healthy Living & Membership Coordinator is responsible for supporting membership operations and coordinating health and wellness programs. This role combines member engagement, staff supervision, and program development to ensure a positive experience for all members. The coordinator will oversee Member Services Associates, assist with fitness programming, and contribute to the overall success of membership and wellness initiatives.
Key Responsibilities Membership Functions- Assist director with supervision and scheduling of Member Services Associates.
- Provide training and development for Member Services staff.
- Monitor membership sales goals and prepare reports.
- Assist with renewals, cancellations, and bank drafts.
- Input membership and program information into the system.
- Provide coverage for Member Services Associates as needed.
- Participate in branch/association special events.
- Assist in the development and delivery of fitness programs for youth and adults.
- Assist director in recruitment, hiring, and supervising fitness and group exercise staff.
- Instruct group exercise classes and personal training sessions as needed.
- Conduct new member orientations and fitness consultations.
- Assist director with scheduling staff and monitoring payroll accuracy.
- Ensure staff certifications remain current and enforce YMCA policies in fitness areas.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of fitness equipment and facilities.
- Support health and wellness seminars, clinics, and special events.
- Develop meaningful and sustainable relationships with members, donors, and volunteers.
- Promote YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
- Prepare accurate incident/accident reports when needed.
- Participate in budgeting, reporting, and promotional activities as directed.
- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree in health-related field preferred.
- One or more years of experience in sales, customer service, or fitness programming.
- CPR/AED/O2 and First Aid certifications (renewed annually). (Training provided by the Y, if needed)
- Completion of required YMCA trainings within designated time frames.
- Personal Training Certification preferred (required if conducting sessions).
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and supervisory skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and respond to emergencies effectively.
