Dental Hygiene Assistant

As a Dental Hygiene Assistant, your primary focus is to ensure that every patient receives the highest standard of dental care in a calm, clean, and supportive environment. You’ll be an essential part of the clinical team—supporting hygienists and dentists with the tools, supplies, and setup needed to deliver exceptional care with minimal disruptions.

• Provide chairside assistance to dental hygienists during cleanings and other hygiene services.
• Support the clinical team by managing dental supply inventory in collaboration with Catalyst Purchasing.
• Oversee routine maintenance and cleanliness of all dental equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Minimize repairs through proactive care and regular upkeep of equipment.
• Ensure compliance with universal precautions and all federal/state health and safety regulations, fostering a safe, hygienic work environment for patients and staff.
• Assist with patient record management, scheduling, and materials handling.
• Contribute to a positive patient experience—from welcome to walk‑out.
• Perform other duties as needed to support clinical operations.

Enjoy a healthy work‑life balance with a consistent schedule:
Monday‑Thursday 7:45 AM‑5:00 PM and Friday 7:45 AM‑3:00 PM. No weekends, no late evenings.

Occasional travel may be required.

You’ll work in a modern dental clinic using a variety of equipment and tools:

• Dental instruments and chairside tools.
• X‑ray and sterilization equipment.
• Office equipment: computers, copiers, printers, fax, postage machine, etc.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certified or trained Dental Assistant with a current Oklahoma Dental Assistant permit.
• Certifications:
  
  CPR, First Aid, Radiography, Coronal Polishing, and Hygiene Assistance.
• Strong knowledge of dental procedures, terminology, tray setups, dental codes, and emergency protocols.
• Proficient in using dental tools and technology (digital X‑rays, intraoral camera, sterilization equipment, etc.).
• Infection control and sterilization experience.
• Valid driver’s license required.

• Able to sit, stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the day.
• Manual dexterity, visual and auditory acuity required.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and assist with patient transfers as needed.
• Occasional exposure to biohazards, chemicals, and radiation.
