Location: CopanAdjunct Faculty – Mathematics

Type of Position: Adjunct Faculty, Faculty – Non‑Tenure Work‑study Position – Fixed Term, Less than Annual Appointment
Work Shift: Day, Night, Saturday and Online

Responsibilities
Provide instruction in accordance with the college’s philosophy, objectives, syllabus and student learning outcomes.Assess student learning and use the assessment to improve instruction.Acquaint students with course requirements, including how to log in to Blackboard and locate grades, within the first week of class and provide periodic evaluations of progress.Meet classes as scheduled, follow appropriate syllabi, and attend adjunct faculty and other dean meetings as requested.Prepare thoroughly for each class period.Inform the division dean if a class will not meet as scheduled.Display professional mannerisms in conduct and appearance whether teaching day or evening classes.Provide in‑class or out‑of‑class student consultation as needed.Maintain accurate and timely records in the Blackboard gradebook.Emphasize to all classes the importance of prompt, regular and continuous class attendance.Submit the names of all students who may need personal counseling to the Vice Chancellor for Student Services.Submit instructor withdrawals and “no‑show” students by the deadline.Use the Faculty To‑Do List and the Log‑In Cheat Sheets to stay on task.Submit final course grades electronically through Campus Connect as soon as possible after the final exam but before the final grade deadline.Complete and submit electronically the end‑of‑course assessment form for each course taught.Report all irregularities, questions or problems concerning instruction to the division dean and/or the Vice Chancellor for Academics.Maintain current credentials on file with the Vice Chancellor for Academic.Abide by the regulations in the Policies and Procedures Manual.Participate in professional activities to stay current in their disciplines.Qualifications
- A Master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in the specific discipline to be taught.
- Teaching experience is preferred.
- Ability to teach day, night, Saturday and online courses at the Hope and Texarkana Campuses.
- Position will be filled based upon enrollment needs.

Adjunct Salary Schedule.
