Salary RangeThe full pay range for this role is $22.00 - $37.00 per hour. The target range for this position is $XX.00 to $XX.00 per hour. We generally base our salary decisions on factors such as internal equity, candidate work and/leadership experience, educational credentials, and in some cases, candidate work location.
Scope of JobUnder specific direction from the site manager and supervision of an experienced technician, this position will assist experienced technicians with conducting maintenance, preventative maintenance, and repair of wind turbines and/or photovoltaic power and energy storage systems. Required TrainingEach Renewable Energy Technician will attend mandatory five (5) week training and certification course at the start of their employment. The exact duration will be determined based on experience and qualifications. The training is in Albert Lea, MN, and travel, accommodation, and expenses will be provided.
Under the direction of the site manager, this position is responsible for conducting preventative maintenance of wind turbines and/or photovoltaic power energy storage systems; and, under the supervision of an experienced technician, conducts troubleshooting and repairs. This position is expected to work safely under all circumstances and to seek guidance for any work for which they are unfamiliar or do not feel competent to perform safely.
Responsibilities80% - In the field:
• Performs preventative maintenance on wind turbines, utility scale photovoltaic power plants and storage systems.
• Under the supervision of an experienced technician, performs troubleshooting, repairs, and upgrades/ revisions to a broad range of equipment in the renewable industry.
• Properly completes Job Safety Assessments, applies LOTOs by following LOTO plans & procedures, identifies & reports all safety hazards on jobsite and suggest improvements, and attends safety meetings.
• Participates in the 24hr/weekly “On Call” rotation & work outside business hours when needed.
• Attends safety and technical training required for this position.
15% - Administrative duties, such as documenting completed jobs, implementing supply orders. Complete daily work orders, time tracking and any other required paperwork for the specific project/assignment.
- 5% - Other duties as assigned.
Education/
Experience:
• High school Diploma or equivalent required.
• 2 to 4 years of experience in renewable energy or a similar discipline.
• Must meet Qualified Electrical Worker standards.
