This posting covers two skill levels (Senior & Lead). Applicants will be considered for the higher level in which they qualify.

Maintains, calibrates and troubleshoots power plant control systems, Motor Control Centers, Switch Gears, Transformers, etc., in support of efficient generation of power under varying conditions.

• Complex responsibilities related to the primary focus of the job area. Uses best practices and in-depth business knowledge to solve complex problems and improve products or services. May adapt procedures, processes and techniques to meet more complex requirements of the position.

• Provide complex AC/DC electrical system maintenance and troubleshooting for voltages up to 18KV.
• Complete and publish calibration and testing reports for documentation purposes.
• Serve as a technical resource to operations personnel and lower technician positions.
• All other duties as assigned.
• Direct, plan and conduct assignments of a complex nature serving in a lead role.
• Schedule and coordinate daily activities with peer operations personnel and negotiate scheduling conflicts.
• Perform required testing of safety systems such as ESD, fire detection and gas detection systems.
• Provide detailed troubleshooting and programming modifications for PLC/DC Systems and HMI systems.
• Direct activities of ICE contractors and vendors.
• Perform complex maintenance, configuration and calibration of process and safety instrumentation used in electrical generation processes.
• Serve as a mentor and assist with training entry level technicians.

• Associate's Degree and 5 years experience in Electrical & Controls/Industrial Controls; or
• High School Diploma/GED and 7 years experience in Electrical & Controls/Industrial Controls; or
• Prior military experience for at least one enlistment as documented on DD Form 214 and 6 years experience in Electrical & Controls/Industrial Controls.
• A certificate of completion from a vocational trade institution in an Electrical & Controls/Industrial Controls field is equivalent to 1 year of experience.
• Experience must include 3 years Electrical & Controls/Industrial Controls experience in a power plant or other process controlled environment including oil/gas/chemical refining and/or processing or manufacturing.

• Associate's Degree in a technical discipline and 7 years experience in Electrical & Controls/Industrial Controls; or
• High School Diploma/GED and 9 years experience in Electrical & Controls/Industrial Controls; or
• Prior military experience for at least one enlistment as documented on DD Form 214 and 8 years experience in Electrical & Controls/Industrial Controls.
• A certificate of completion from a vocational trade institution in an Electrical & Controls/Industrial Controls field is equivalent to 1 year of experience.
• Experience must include 5 years Electrical & Controls/Industrial Controls experience in a power plant or other process controlled environment including oil/gas/chemical refining and/or processing or manufacturing.

• May be required to cross-train in various crafts and operation departments at various times of the year.
• May work under hazardous conditions where physical danger exists due to mechanical equipment.
• May be exposed to extreme conditions and inclement weather.
• May require travel.
• May be required to work at heights up to and exceeding thirty (30) feet, underground and in confined spaces.
• May be required to work overtime and weekends and holidays.
• May be required to work non-standard work schedules to include on-call and call-outs.

• Demonstrated leadership in IIF (Incident and Injury Free) culture.
• Advanced knowledge of instrumentation and electrical concepts.
• Ability to read and interpret advanced electrical and control drawings.
• Mechanical aptitude with hand tools.
• Ability to take on additional responsibility.
• Advanced knowledge of maintenance, testing, installation and repair of instrumentation and electrical components.
• Strong communication across organization levels.
• Basic computer skills with MS Office.
