Project Engineer – Packaging Projects
Asset Recruitment is proud to present this opportunity with our client, a leading global pharmaceutical company. They are seeking a for a Project Engineer – Packaging Projects to play a key role at their Bray site.
Role:Project Engineer/Manager with proven experience leading full lifecycle projects in pharmaceutical packaging. Oversees and delivers mid- to large-scale capital initiatives in alignment with established project governance standards, ensuring full compliance with financial, quality, and regulatory requirements. Project focus areas include asset care, equipment upgrades, and new product introduction (NPI).
Accountabilities include:- Manage capital projects of varying complexity across organizational boundaries and is responsible for their successful delivery.
- Ensure projects are conducted at the highest quality, within time and budget, and that the risk level is managed per the company’s procedures and stakeholder expectations.
- Lead a cross functional team of internal and external specialists.
- Ensure compliance with existing organization and industry standards (e.g. PMM, cGMP, GEP)
- Coordinates all stakeholders, facilitates problem solving sessions and/or other planning sessions and overall business strategy.
- Responsible for the adequate utilization of all quality systems as defined by the company’s Procedures within the projects organization.
- Ensures compliance with rules and regulations of procurement and accounting.
- Specific projects to be executed are generally in the Packaging area of the site and include:
New product introductions in the packaging environment, format parts procurement & CQV; upgrades to high speed Blister line equipment (Uhlmann); general asset management equipment upgrades in all areas of packaging
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science or related technical field (Engineering degree preferred)
- 10+ years’ experience in managing projects or programs through the full lifecycle, with total budgets up to €3M
- Experience in pharmaceutical or biotech industry and in a large company environment and working and communicating globally
- Hands‑on attitude (role will involve supervision of installation activities on the shop floor)
- Management of contractors & suppliers for site works
- Strong financial and business acumen and Knowledge of scheduling and cost estimation/controlling.
- Decision‑making, stakeholder management and strategic thinking skills
- High facilitation and presentation skillset
- Self‑motivated and capable of analyzing and solving complex problems.
- Risk focused and with high Quality & EHS awareness
- Leadership and problem‑solving skills
- Certified PM according by IPMA or PMI is an advantage
