Personal Financial Counselor – Assignment Ready Counselor (PFC), Oklahoma
Position is available for short‑term, surge, and on‑demand coverage of personal financial counseling services to military service members and their families at military installations.
Responsibilities- Provide personal financial counseling and management services directly to service members and families.
- Assist service members in establishing a spending plan for extended absences.
- Develop and distribute informational financial materials.
- Coordinate, publicize, and deliver a wide variety of Personal Financial Management classes/workshops covering various life stages and assignments.
- Respond to requests for age‑appropriate classes or seminars.
- Utilize virtual counseling or other electronic communication modes such as web‑based, secure online chat, or video‑based communications.
- Manage duty‑to‑warn situations per DoD protocol.
- Communicate with leadership and participate in regular individual and group supervision.
- Participate in regular in‑services/training, quality‑improvement committees or other contract activities as assigned/appropriate.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree required (associate degree + 4 years’ experience or high school diploma + 6 years’ experience considered).
- 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
- U.S. citizen and fluent English speaker; bilingual English/Spanish may be required.
- Ability to obtain favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation.
- Must pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process.
- Must hold one of the following certifications:
Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
Salary Range: $53,125–$84,995, based on experience, education, location, and other factors.
