Grants and Finance Specialist

Our client, a leading academic and research institution, is seeking a Grants and Finance Specialist to join their team. As a Grants and Finance Specialist, you will be part of the Research Operations team supporting research development and administrative functions. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities, which will align successfully in the organization.

• Develop, implement, and oversee research funding strategies within the Division of Primary Care and Population Health.
• Assist principal investigators with proposal preparation, ensuring compliance with research guidelines.
• Manage and monitor both pre- and post-award portfolios, including budget development and expenditure review.
• Serve as a liaison between research faculty, the Office of Sponsored Research, and other departments to facilitate award setup and compliance.
• Create reports to support project status updates, forecasting, and decision-making processes.

• At least 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in higher education or research administration.
• Extensive knowledge of research administration policies, including Uniform Guidance and sponsor practices.
• Strong understanding of Stanford systems such as SeRA, Oracle financials, and related tools.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combined education and experience.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
