It is responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of all North Carolinians, providing human service needs for special populations including individuals who are deaf, blind, developmentally disabled, and mentally ill, and helping poor North Carolinians achieve economic independence.
** Description of Work
** We are currently recruiting for multiple Clinical Substance Abuse Counselors to function as a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialists at Central Regional Hospital (CRH) in the Department of Psychosocial Treatment (PST).
The primary purpose of this position is to provide evidenced based substance use group therapy, assessment, and individual therapy for adult patients, though some work with adolescents may be required. The role of this position is primarily as a group counselor but may also provide individual counseling by referral and assessments for patients with substance use history, for diagnostic purposes.

** Salary Grade Range: $45,926.00 - $80,369.00

Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement.

The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)/ Management Preferences are not required. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred:
* Considerable knowledge of evidence-based group treatment for substance use
* Considerable knowledge and practical application of advanced therapeutic approaches, group dynamics, crisis intervention, and trauma focused therapy
* Considerable knowledge of medical terminology, disease processes, and their treatment as they relate to decisions regarding clinical interventions and appropriate therapies based on medical or psychological diagnoses
* Thorough knowledge of the substance abuse addiction processes, including psychological and physical withdrawal
* Thorough knowledge of assessment tools for addiction disorders
