Data Center Technician - Technical IT

Our client, a leading technology provider, is seeking a Data Center Technician - Technical IT 2 to join their team. As a Data Center Technician, you will be part of the IT department supporting critical operations. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a customer-focused mindset which will align successfully in the organization.

Location: Leesburg, VA

Pay Range: $26-$28/hour

Shift: Night Shift B12-hours (Sun-Tues, every other Wed), 7 PM - 7 AM

• Prepare, stage, set up, and perform startups and shutdowns of IT equipment
  , following specific instructions and safety protocols.
• Conduct post-execution quality checks to ensure proper grounding, staging, labeling, and cabling.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware issues
  , quickly identifying causes and performing break‑fix repairs on faulty components.
• Decommission hardware for system refreshes, including memory upgrades and OS rebuilds
  .
• Monitor systems for equipment failures or errors and respond to program error messages effectively.

• Computer Science majors OR CompTIA A+ or Server+ certifications
  .
• Experience as a Data Center Technician
  , with hardware break‑fix responsibilities
  .
• Previous experience with Geek Squad computer repair or similar computer repair technician roles
  .
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of computer hardware, servers, and components
  .
• 1+ years of experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.
• Basic understanding of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).
• Flexibility to work non‑standard business hours
  , including weekends and/or holidays.
