The NDT Level II Technician (Penetrant & Magnetic Particle) is responsible for performing nondestructive testing (NDT) using liquid penetrant (PT) and magnetic particle (MT) methods to detect and evaluate discontinuities in aerospace components. The Level II operator will set up and perform inspections, interpret and evaluate results against applicable codes, standards, and specifications, and document findings in accordance with company procedures and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities but not limited to:
- Perform liquid penetrant (PT) and magnetic particle (MT) inspections in accordance with NAS
410, BAC, ASTM, customer, and internal specifications. - Set up, calibrate, and operate NDT equipment per approved procedures.
- Review work orders/travelers and verify compliance with process requirements prior to inspection.
- Interpret, evaluate, and document inspection results, including acceptance/rejection determinations.
- Recognize and classify relevant indications in accordance with applicable standards.
- Prepare and maintain accurate inspection records and reports.
- Assist with training and guidance of Level I personnel as assigned.
- Ensure inspection areas and equipment are maintained in a clean, safe, and serviceable condition.
- Support audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement activities related to NDT.
- Comply with all company safety, quality, and ethical standards.
- Certification to NAS
410 Level II in Penetrant Testing (PT) and Magnetic Particle Testing (MT). - High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training in related field preferred.
- Minimum experience hours as defined by NAS
410 for Level II certification. - Ability to read and interpret technical specifications, blueprints, and engineering drawings.
- Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel and good knowledge of company operating system.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and record-keeping accuracy.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Work Environment Requirements :
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Work may involve exposure to penetrant/magnetic sol
