CNC Machinist

Compensation: $21.52 / hour

Description

Responsible for operating computerized numerically controlled lathes and machine centers to produce finished parts from rough castings.

Key Responsibilities

• Comply with policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements per the Franklin Electric Quality System.
• Follow detailed assembly instructions, processes, and procedures.
• Report problems with quality, process, equipment, and materials to Production Supervisor.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing functions.
• Meet daily production schedule as assigned.
• Program and operate the machines to process parts as required per order specifications.
• Adjust machine settings as needed to correct deformities in the completed product.
• Perform various quality tests on completed products to ensure order specifications are met.
• Perform other duties as required or assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

Skills Knowledge and Expertise

• Works with various hand tools and gauges.
• Reads and understands documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Utilizes common sense understanding in order to carry out written, oral, or diagrammed instructions.
• Provides accurate work on a consistent basis meeting precise tolerances and standards.
• Interpersonal skills sufficient to work closely with others on a team.
• Ability to demonstrate flexibility in work environment performing a variety of frequently changing tasks.
• Ability to work alone effectively under stress and in situations dangerous to self or others.
• Completes some moderately repetitive tasks.

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (required).
• 6 months or more experience working in a manufacturing type position (preferred).

Computer Skills

• Intermediate: Programs the machine and makes adjustments as needed.
