Job Purpose
Provides direct and indirect patient care services that meet the psychosocial, physical, and general aspects of care; meets the communication needs of patients and families; and provides care that reflects initiative and responsibility indicative of professional expectations. All positions with direct patient care are considered safety‑sensitive by AVEM Health Partners standards.

Essential Functions- Responds quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.
- Fosters a positive work environment.
- Assesses patients’ needs based on medical history, risk factors, complaints, and care needs; classifies urgency of symptoms and notifies appropriate personnel.
- Collects samples from patients (blood, urine, stool, sputum) and prepares them for analysis or shipment.
- Performs nursing care per qualifications, based on the plan of care, following established policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Actively participates in the planning and implementation of patient care under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
- Delegates appropriately according to scope of practice and educational preparation; adheres to the Oklahoma Nursing Practice Act and the "5 Rights of Delegation".
- Administers medications according to the policies and procedures of the facility.
- Communicates with all members of the healthcare team.
- Ensures that required documentation is complete and compliant with regulations and standards.
- Observes signs and symptoms and reports to the physician and/or other appropriate health professionals as needed.
- Keeps current with nursing trends and evidence‑based practice; participates in required in‑service programs.
- Ensures all safety and infection‑control practices are followed.
- Responds to emergency situations.
- Maintains confidentiality of patient and organization.
- Performs other duties as assigned within scope of practice.
- Supports the mission, vision, and goals of AVEM Health Partners and serves as a role model within the company.
- Exhibits positive customer‑service behavior in daily interactions.
- Maintains a courteous and respectful attitude toward internal workforce and external customers.
- Communicates accurately and appropriately.

- Seeks out educational or professional opportunities for personal learning and growth and meets mandatory education requirements.
- Actes as a preceptor when requested.
- Demonstrates excellent attendance and actively participates in meetings and training sessions as required.
- Adheres to the AVEM Health Partners Code of Conduct and Standards of Behavior, and complies with all health and safety requirements.
- Graduate of an approved nursing program.
- Current LPN license issued by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtained within 30 days of hire.
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
- Two (2) years of clinical experience preferred.
- Must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily; reasonable accommodation may be available for individuals with disabilities.
- Intact visual and auditory abilities required.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Constant standing and walking required.
- Frequent pushing, pulling, lifting, tugging, and reaching required.
- Must have physical strength and agility to position patients for examinations and procedures.
