Nurse Practitioner (NP) – PRN / On-Call

Pawnee Behavioral Health, in partnership with Ascension Recovery Services, is seeking an experienced PRN / On-Call Nurse Practitioner (NP) to support medical coverage at our active substance use disorder treatment facility. This role is ideal for a clinically confident NP who values flexibility while delivering high-quality, compassionate, recovery-oriented care.
Responsibilities- Provide medical and psychiatric assessment, medication management, and clinical decision-making support for patients receiving substance use disorder treatment.
- Collaborate closely with nursing, clinical leadership, and operations to ensure safe detoxification, continuity of care, and regulatory compliance.
- Perform medical evaluations as needed
- Manage detoxification, withdrawal, and MAT protocols
- Prescribe medications in accordance with clinical protocols and state/federal regulations
- Provide clinical guidance to nursing staff during on-call situations
- Respond to medical or psychiatric concerns and emergencies
- Document all care accurately and timely in the EHR
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support patient safety and outcomes
- Participate in quality, compliance, and clinical review activities as requested
Required
- Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN); DNP preferred
- Current, unrestricted Oklahoma Nurse Practitioner license
- Eligible for DEA registration with Schedule III authority
- Current CPR certification
Preferred
- Certification as FNP or PMHNP
- Experience in behavioral health, addiction medicine, detox, or inpatient/residential settings
- Strong working knowledge of MAT, withdrawal management, and psychotropic medications
- Strong clinical judgment and autonomous decision-making
- Ability to respond calmly and effectively in on-call situations
- Clear communication and collaboration with nursing and leadership
- Trauma-informed, culturally responsive care approach
- High level of professionalism and ethical practice
- PRN and on-call clinical coverage
- May include nights, weekends, or holiday rotations
- On-site and/or telephonic clinical support depending on need
