Nurse Practitioner (NP) – PRN / On-Call

Pawnee Behavioral Health, in partnership with Ascension Recovery Services, is seeking an experienced PRN / On-Call Nurse Practitioner (NP) to support medical coverage at our active substance use disorder treatment facility. This role is ideal for a clinically confident NP who values flexibility while delivering high-quality, compassionate, recovery-oriented care.

• Provide medical and psychiatric assessment, medication management, and clinical decision-making support for patients receiving substance use disorder treatment.
• Collaborate closely with nursing, clinical leadership, and operations to ensure safe detoxification, continuity of care, and regulatory compliance.
• Perform medical evaluations as needed
• Manage detoxification, withdrawal, and MAT protocols
• Prescribe medications in accordance with clinical protocols and state/federal regulations
• Provide clinical guidance to nursing staff during on-call situations
• Respond to medical or psychiatric concerns and emergencies
• Document all care accurately and timely in the EHR
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support patient safety and outcomes
• Participate in quality, compliance, and clinical review activities as requested

Required

• Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN); DNP preferred
• Current, unrestricted Oklahoma Nurse Practitioner license
• Eligible for DEA registration with Schedule III authority
• Current CPR certification

Preferred

• Certification as FNP or PMHNP
• Experience in behavioral health, addiction medicine, detox, or inpatient/residential settings
• Strong working knowledge of MAT, withdrawal management, and psychotropic medications

• Strong clinical judgment and autonomous decision-making
• Ability to respond calmly and effectively in on-call situations
• Clear communication and collaboration with nursing and leadership
• Trauma-informed, culturally responsive care approach
• High level of professionalism and ethical practice

• PRN and on-call clinical coverage
• May include nights, weekends, or holiday rotations
• On-site and/or telephonic clinical support depending on need
