Join FAR Inspections as a Mortgage Field Services Inspector. In this role you perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders in Reno, NV.

Independent contractors earn predictable full‑time or supplemental income and enjoy a flexible schedule. Experience with mortgage field inspections is not required but an ability to manage time and meet deadlines is crucial.

Mortgage lenders require periodic updates on their properties. Your inspections verify property occupancy and report on general condition using a mobile application. Most inspections are exterior only; about 10% require interior photos after the property has gone vacant.

• Complete most common inspections in 5–6 minutes.
• Finish the inspection within 4 days after assignment.
• Report general property conditions and determine occupancy based on industry standards.
• Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments.
• Complete a short form in an app.
• Spend extended periods driving while making numerous stops during the day in the assigned territory.

• Computer with internet connection.
• Reliable vehicle (good gas mileage is a plus; you pay for your own gas).
• Smartphone (Android or iPhone).
• Printer.
• Pass a standard background check using a valid driver’s license.

This is a 1099 position. Each inspection has a flat rate. Rates vary by county and volume. You earn the equivalent of $30–$40 per hour. Depending on county, you may complete anywhere from 20–500 inspections per month, working 2–30 hours per week. Lower volume counties have higher rates and higher volume counties have lower rates. There is no set amount of inspections per month, but the work is consistent month‑to‑month.

Earn more as you become established, have greater availability to inspect, or cover a larger territory. No additional mileage reimbursement above the flat fee per inspection.
