FAR Inspections is looking for highly motivated individuals to perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders.

Independent contractors earn predictable full-time or supplemental income with a flexible schedule. Experience with mortgage field inspections is not required, but an ability to effectively manage time and meet deadlines is crucial.

Mortgage lenders require periodic updates on their properties, so they send independent contractors to verify property occupancy and report general conditions. Most inspections are exterior only, with about 10% requiring interior photos after the property has gone vacant.

• Most common inspections take 5-6 minutes.
• Complete the inspection within 4 days after it is assigned.
• Report general property conditions and determine occupancy based on industry standards.
• Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments.
• Complete a short form in an app.
• Spend extended periods driving during the day in the assigned territory.

• Reliable vehicle (good gas mileage is a plus)
• Smartphone (Android or iPhone)
• Printer
• Pass a standard background check using a valid driver's license

This is a 1099 position. Each inspection has a flat rate. Rates vary by county and volume. Though you are paid per inspection, you can earn the equivalent of $30-$40 per hour.

Depending on the county and whether it is urban or rural, you will complete anywhere from 20-500 inspections per month, working 2-30 hours per week. Lower volume counties have higher rates, and higher volume counties have lower rates. Work is consistent month-to-month.

Earn more as you become established, have greater availability to inspect, or cover a larger territory.

No additional mileage reimbursement beyond the flat fee per inspection.
