Join FAR INSPECTIONS as a Mortgage Field Services Inspector. We are looking for motivated individuals to perform residential occupancy verifications for mortgage lenders.

Independent contractors earn predictable full‑time or supplemental income with a flexible schedule. Experience is not required; strong time‑management and deadline‑meeting skills are essential. The role is based in Reno, NV and has been operating for over 9 years.

Mortgage lenders require periodic updates on their properties. The contractor’s purpose is to verify property occupancy and report on the general condition of the property using a mobile application.

• Verify property occupancy.
• Report general property condition via a mobile app.

Most inspections are exterior only; about 10% require interior photos after vacancy.

• Complete most inspections in 5‑6 minutes.
• Finish each inspection within 4 days of assignment.
• Report general property conditions and determine occupancy using industry standards.
• Take 9+ photos with brief comments.
• Complete a short form in the app.
• Drive extended periods during the day, making multiple stops within the assigned territory.
• Work at the county level; you may share a county with another inspector if volume permits.

• Computer with internet connection.
• Reliable vehicle (good fuel economy is a plus; you pay your own gas).
• Smartphone (Android or iPhone).
• Printer.
• Pass a standard background check using a valid driver’s license.

1099 position. Each inspection has a flat rate, varying by county and volume. You could earn the equivalent of $30‑$40 per hour.

Depending on the county and its urban/rural status, you may complete 20‑500 inspections per month, working 2‑30 hours per week. Lower‑volume counties pay higher rates; higher‑volume counties pay lower rates. Volume is not capped but consistent month‑to‑month.

Earn more as you establish yourself, increase availability, or cover a larger territory. No mileage reimbursement beyond the flat fee per inspection.
