Carpenter Journeyman

Position Summary:

Work with concrete, and construct and repair structural woodwork and equipment in yards, industrial and commercial property.

• Construct and repair structural wood work and equipment in the yard, industrial and commercial property
• Work with materials such as wood, plastic, fiberglass, or drywall
• Utilize chisels, planes, saws, drills, and sanders to repair and erect structures
• Estimating sizes, distances, and quantities or determining time, costs, resources, or materials needed to perform work activities
• Inspect subordinate's work for compliance with contract plans and specifications, point out deficiencies and take corrective actions needed

• May require a high school diploma or equivalent with previous years of experience in the field or a related area
• Must possess working knowledge skills and abilities for the position
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management/supervision
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools and layout tools safely and efficiently

• Concrete experience
• Ability to constantly move about a construction/industrial site: stand, walk, sit, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl
• Constantly works in a construction environment and will be exposed to changing outdoor weather conditions
• Work irregular hours, weekends, overtime and holidays as required
• May be required to use ladders, mechanical platforms, lifts, scaffolds to access required equipment/work areas, possibly exceeding 200 feet; must climb and maintain balance on formwork, steel formwork, stairs, ladders and scaffolds
• Move and work in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven surfaces
• Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy and dusty environment
• May be required/able to move items weighing up to 50 pounds across construction/industrial site
• Must have required tools
• May require U.S. driver license
• Observe and comply with all safety and project rules, perform other duties as required
• Ability to pass fit‑for‑duty testing

• Hourly rate of $30
• 5/2 work schedule, 8 hours/day, potential overtime on Saturdays
• This is a local job; no per diem or travel assistance is being offered at this time
