The Accounting Department is now taking applications for the position of Staff Accountant
. Interested inside employees should contact Gary Creekmore, Vice President of Human Resources. All candidates must complete an application at the ECOEC website.
A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business and a minimum of three (3) years accounting experience with Telecom or Fiber Optic provider is required.
Responsibilities:- Updating accounts receivable and issuing invoices
- Analyzing reports to ensure that all customer purchases are billed accurately
- Assisting in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings
- Sorting and scanning incoming mail to ensure that invoices are received and entered
- Reviewing and coding administrative invoices in online AP system
- Vendor management (adding new vendors, requesting & receipt of W-9)
- Gathering information for and aiding in the preparation of state/local sales tax returns
- Other duties and special projects as requested by management
Required:
- 3 years of accounting experience in a telecom environment
- Firm grasp of basic and intermediate accounting principles
- Strong Microsoft Excel knowledge
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities
