Job DescriptionThe Salvation Army is looking for a full‑time Thrift Store Manager I to oversee operations at our OKM Thrift Store in Okmulgee, Oklahoma.
Job SummaryPlans, administers, monitors, and evaluates the day‑to‑day operations of a small thrift store, ensuring a reasonable financial return. Assists customers politely, prepares attractive store displays, rotates and restocks merchandise for quick turnover, and ensures accountability and security of all store items and funds. May serve as lead worker to volunteers, beneficiaries, and subordinate staff, ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures.
Responsibilities- Manage day‑to‑day store operations and financial performance.
- Provide customer service and support in a friendly manner.
- Prepare and maintain attractive, neat, and orderly displays.
- Rotate and restock merchandise to ensure quick turnover.
- Monitor accountability and security of all store items and funds.
- Lead and train volunteers and staff, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
- Principles and practices of retail store management.
- Effective customer relations.
- Accurate bookkeeping record keeping.
- Ability to evaluate overall store operations and implement corrective action.
- Reasonable pricing of donated merchandise.
- Read, write, and verbal communication in English.
- Mathematical computation skills.
HS diploma or G.E.D. AND two years progressively responsible experience in a retail store environment, with at least one year in a supervisory capacity, OR an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Certifications- Valid State Driver's License.
- Meet attendance requirements.
- Frequent walking, standing, kneeling, squatting; light lifting (≤25 lbs).
- Work primarily seated with brief periods of standing or walking.
Normal store environment; minimal physical discomfort from weather changes.
