The Procurement Agent II is responsible for providing procurement support from quotation to delivery using current systems and processes. The incumbent delivers excellent customer service to Project Management and Field personnel. Responsibilities include RFI/RFP/RFQ activities, analyzing quotations for total value, creating, verifying, and editing purchase/rental orders or contracts and submitting orders to our supplier network. The incumbent assists in coordinating material/equipment deliveries and may perform other clerical duties related to the procurement team.

Additional duties involve identifying, qualifying, and contacting potential vendors for bids or quotes, and recommending alternative vendor options.

Minimum Requirements
  • Education:

    Associate’s Degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, or a relevant trade/industry technical program.
  • Experience:

    2–5 years of purchasing/buying experience in the electrical industry or another relevant business.
  • Travel:
    Less than 10%, with limited periodic travel to different office or jobsite locations.
  • Work Schedule:

    7 AM–5 PM, Monday–Friday. Overtime may be required.
Key Responsibilities Conflict Management
  • Proactively communicate issues, concerns, delays, and opportunities to the appropriate stakeholders.
  • Resolve material/supplier issues that pose potential disruption, escalation, or risk to projects or relationships.

Functional/Technical Skills
  • Apply purchasing/trade material knowledge to each transaction.
  • Prepare purchase orders using established procedures.
  • Work with customers to establish clear bill of materials with appropriate specifications.
  • Participate in project start‑up meetings.
  • Consistently demonstrate exceptional customer service skills to internal and external customers.
  • Expedite supplier shipments, deliveries, and pickups as appropriate.
  • Apply contract pricing to purchase materials or make recommendations.
  • Use elementary knowledge of statistical methods and data analysis.
  • Perform cost comparisons of alternative options.
  • Utilize FTI PO/ERP systems to complete required tasks.
  • Set requirements, execute purchase orders, and consult in managing inventory levels.
  • Provide effective or innovative solutions to problems.
  • Have basic knowledge of Six Sigma and problem‑solving methodologies.
  • Know ERP systems, procure‑to‑pay functionality, and proper process sequences.
  • Communicate effectively to stakeholders, verbally and in writing.
  • Apply training to daily work tasks.
Negotiating
  • Negotiate and obtain quotes for materials and rental equipment.
  • Assist in translating negotiation outcomes into supplier agreements or contracts.
  • Prepare preliminary data analysis to support negotiation preparation.
  • Participate in selective external negotiations.
  • Visit stakeholder projects and represent the procurement function to operations.
  • Build trust with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Document negotiated agreements with control and clarity.
