Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Pre-Construction Manager to lead and manage electrical scopes for large-scale data center construction projects
. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing electrical work packages, ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and client requirements. The ideal candidate has a strong background in mission‑critical facilities and understands the unique demands of high‑reliability environments.

Our rapidly growing Industrial and Water Engineering Group

The Industrial Group projects span markets such as advanced technologies; mining, minerals and metals; process industries; industrial energy; drinking water; wastewater treatment and biosolids; desalination; and industrial water.

Location

This role is based out of our Lenexa, Kansas office initially. Could transition to on‑site to support our Data Center work across North America.

Responsibilities
  • Project Leadership: Oversee all electrical aspects of data center construction projects from preconstruction hand‑off and project support through commissioning.
  • Budget & Scheduling: Develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, and schedules for electrical systems.
  • Coordination: Collaborate with design teams, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems.
  • Quality & Compliance: Ensure adherence to NEC, NFPA, and local codes, as well as client standards for mission‑critical facilities.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks related to electrical scope, including redundancy and uptime requirements.
  • Procurement: Manage material and equipment procurement for electrical systems, including switch gear, UPS, generators, and distribution panels.
  • Team Management: Lead and mentor electrical engineers, field supervisors, and subcontractors.
  • Client Interface: Serve as primary point of contact for electrical scope with clients and consultants.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience:
    • 7+ years in electrical construction project management, preferably in data centers or mission‑critical facilities
      .
    • Proven track record managing large‑scale electrical scopes ($10M+).
  • Technical Knowledge:
    • Power distribution, UPS systems, generators, grounding, and redundancy design.
    • Familiarity with BIM, scheduling software (Primavera P6/MS Project), and cost control tools.
  • Certifications: PMP or equivalent preferred; OSHA 30 required.
  • Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving abilities.
