Overview
We are seeking a full‑time Electrical/Design Engineer – Aviation Hardware in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing moderately complex electronic circuits, equipment, systems, and products.
Essential Functions- Proficiently use troubleshooting and general EE tools (e.g. multimeters, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, schematic design and PCB layout programs, etc.)
- May perform as a technical leader or Project Engineer for small projects or sub projects as part of a greater project, following established procedures
- Design test boards and circuit modifications to test design improvements
- Source and analyze appropriate components to meet electrical engineering design needs
- Test circuits designed by other engineers and document the test results
- Find technical root cause and suggest corrective action for given problems
- Work with the factory team to understand design impacts on manufacturability
- Estimate level of effort, evaluate new options of similar technology, offer suggestions to improve processes, and provide comments and suggestions on some electrical design aspects in design reviews
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related field AND a minimum of 1 year relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)
- Demonstrated ability with application of design standards and procedures to design and develop moderately complex analog, digital and/or RF designs including simulations, schematics, PCB layouts and evaluation
- Demonstrated ability with electrical engineering tools
- Demonstrated knowledge of design impacts on manufacturability
- Outstanding academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.5)
- Desire experience with sensors for inertial and/or air data products
