DH Pace Company, Inc., is seeking a Sales & Use Tax Manager based at our Corporate Office in Olathe, KS
. Minimum ten (10) years of Sales & Use Tax experience with a BA in Accounting. Strong multi-state taxation experience in construction taxability, customer and supplier exemption management, in-house and outsourced return preparation, and working knowledge of tax calculation software. International taxation experience is a plus. Team management experience is requested.

• Department Management:
  Coach and mentor three Senior Tax Accountants and one Tax Accountant, assess and cultivate team strengths, communicate effectively, manage workflow and coaching opportunities, and hire/train/develop new employees.
• Tax Team Processes:
  Oversee the tax team’s preparation and filing of a high volume of monthly, quarterly and annual tax returns for DH Pace Company, Inc. and affiliated subsidiaries. (Income Tax and Property Tax compliance are NOT part of this position’s responsibility). Respond to escalated tax inquiries from tax authorities, customers, the business, and vendors as needed.
• Company Tax Management:
  Monitor sales tax laws and regulations, document and communicate changes, maintain company-wide tax reference tools and training guides, manage external tax providers, and provide sales tax advice for Mergers & Acquisitions.
• Audit Management:
  Conduct internal audits to ensure division tax compliance, manage state/local audits, furnish data to auditors, and rebut issues to minimize assessments.
• Perform other job-related responsibilities and projects as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• Minimum ten (10) years’ Sales & Use Tax experience with strong multi-state taxation expertise, construction taxability, exemption management, outsourced return preparation, and tax software experience. International taxation experience a plus.
• Proficient in MS Excel (formulas and pivot tables); experience with Vertex, CCH Sure Tax, and ERP systems with tax programming is preferred.
• Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Successful completion of references, employment verifications, background check, and drug screen required in advance of hire.
