This onsite role requires availability for the 6:00am – 2:30pm CST shift and under the direct supervision of the Pharmacy Manager, the Staff Pharmacist is responsible for the provision of safe, effective, and prompt medication therapy and for comprehensive pharmaceutical care to patients in assigned areas.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Operate within professional standards and comply with Federal, State, and local regulations. Process prescriptions to meet Select Rx objectives and maintain high customer satisfaction. Compound, dispense, check, and verify prescriptions and health-related product orders in accordance with governing laws.
• Implement and maintain Pharmacy Department policies and procedures. Adhere to professional practices and manage pharmacy hourly staff. Assist in training and supervising pharmacy technicians and other support staff. Monitor staff performance and assist the Pharmacy Manager in ensuring profitable operations.
• Develop and oversee policies for drug purchasing, distribution, inventory control, and quality assurance. Review pharmacy audit reports and implement cost-saving initiatives. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and maintain required records and reports.
• Identify, evaluate, and interpret prescriptions. Receive new prescriptions from prescribers or authorized agents. Monitor drug therapy, recognize significant drug interactions, and supervise packaging procedures to ensure safety and accuracy.
• Oversee all activities of pharmacy technicians to ensure safe, complete, and accurate work. Consult with patients regarding prescriptions and medical information, as mandated by OBRA regulations. Maintain professional relationships with the medical community and resolve customer complaints as needed.
• Attend Select Rx team meetings when requested.

Skills/Abilities

• Proficiency with automated prescription systems and pharmacy computer systems. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Good written and oral communication. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality (HIPAA) and interact with management, staff, clients, and the public.

Education And Experience

• Bachelor of Science degree or Pharm.
  
  D. from an accredited School of Pharmacy.

Certificates/Licenses/Registration

• Must be currently licensed by the Kansas Board of Pharmacy to practice in Kansas.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of standing at a desk and working on a computer.
