Overview
The Sr. Human Resources Generalist supports the day-to-day operations of the talent team at the Chick-fil-A Supply Distribution Center (DC) in Olathe, KS, ensuring a workforce that can meet the demands of the DC. The HR Generalist will contribute to the administration of reward and benefit systems, engage with stakeholders to facilitate daily HR transactions, including tracking employee records, supporting the recruitment/interview process, managing the new hire onboarding process, and collaborating with the Talent Leader and Chick-fil-A Supply leadership to drive the talent strategy and culture within the DC.
This role helps drive continued innovation at an operation like no other in the food service industry.
- Engage with stakeholders to facilitate daily HR transactions, including tracking employee records, supporting the recruitment/interview process, managing the new hire onboarding process, and contributing to the administration of reward and benefit systems.
- Collaborate with the Talent Leader and Chick-fil-A Supply leadership to drive the talent strategy and culture within the DC.
- Drive continued innovation at the distribution center operation.
- Oversee records management within the HR system for all staff in the facility, including compiling and analyzing data for key performance indicators and providing insights to the Talent Leader.
- Drive employee engagement across all departments, respond to employee inquiries, provide employee relations support in a timely manner, and develop initiatives to promote a culture of care, safety and excellence.
- Advise and support team leaders on employment law, government regulations, performance management, and policies (e.g., FMLA, ADA, workers' compensation).
- Oversee payroll administration for the DC and resolve issues for staff and leaders.
- Coordinate and facilitate training sessions and seminars, including delivering training when needed.
- Other duties as may be assigned.
- Support the Regional Talent Leader in executing recruitment initiatives to staff the DC, including forecasting recruitment requirements and coordinating interview logistics.
- Bachelor's Degree
- 5 years of HR-related experience, including at least 3 years in a distribution or manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated knowledge of general HR policies, procedures, and practices
- Ability to build relationships and influence others across multiple operations
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts; occasional travel (overnight)
- Experience with investigations including accidents and harassment allegations; experience recruiting and developing a strong, diverse team
- Understanding of labor legislation; ability to lead through change management
- Spanish speaking strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of logistics, warehousing, and IT systems; working knowledge of HRIS and payroll administration
- Working knowledge of safety practices (OSHA) for distribution facilities
- Excellent knowledge of employment law and other governmental requirements related to human resources; business acumen of HR KPIs
