Job Summary
Maintenance (A) role at SPX Technologies. 1200 W. Marley Rd. Olathe KS 66061. 2nd Shift: 2:45pm - 11:15pm with daily and weekend overtime as needed. Pay Rate: $30.00 per hour plus $2.00 per hour shift differential for 2nd Shift. Benefits include medical, prescription, dental, vision, life insurance, accident & sickness benefits starting on the first day of employment, 401k with company matching, paid vacation, paid floating holidays, and paid holidays.
Responsibilities- Ensure operation of production machines and mechanical equipment.
- Use precision measuring instruments.
- Use hand tools and portable tools when required in the repair and overhaul of equipment.
- Weld and cut with arc, mig, plasma, and acetylene welding equipment.
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems on machines and repair as required.
- Able to tune‑up, repair, or overhaul plant machinery and equipment if needed.
- Operate equipment such as drills, saw, and others that would be required.
- High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
- Basic knowledge in electricity, power mechanics, hydraulics, plumbing, and welding.
- Ability to set‑up machines.
- Ability to read a tape measure in metric and imperial standards.
- Ability to apply shop mathematics to solve problems.
- Ability to compare and accurately determine difference in size, shape, and form of objects.
- Ability to plan work and select proper tools.
- Ability to correctly and safely use hand tools (both manual and pneumatic).
- Ability to read effectively from a paper copy.
- Knowledge in interpreting blueprints and engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of basic maintenance, shop operation, and procedures.
- Understanding and operation of computer‑based maintenance data systems.
- Ability to work within precise limits and/or standards of accuracy.
- Ability to multi‑task.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to follow and understand directions.
- Lifting up to 50 pounds; 50+ pounds with assistance.
- Sitting, standing, walking, bending, grasping, pushing, pulling, crawling, climbing, twisting, reaching, working at heights, and using a ladder as required.
- Ability to use both hands overhead.
- Perform repetitive motions.
- Plant environment with potential exposure to all types of weather, including excessive heat, excessive cold, and excessive noise.
