Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise nursing personnel as directed by the Administrator.
  • Plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operation of the Nursing department to ensure quality resident care in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and standards.
  • Liaise with residents, families, and support departments to plan for resident needs.
  • Teach and lead by example on all shifts.
  • Ensure knowledge of state laws and regulations governing long-term care in Kansas.
  • Implement and interpret department programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain knowledge of state reporting and plan of corrections.
  • Follow company policies including harassment and compliance procedures; demonstrate integrity and professionalism.
Qualifications
  • Must be currently licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Kansas in good standing.
  • Active RN license in good standing throughout employment.
  • Supervisory experience in a long-term care setting; preferably as a DON in Kansas.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills; ability to lead a nursing team and foster teamwork.
  • Ability to teach and lead by example on all shifts.
  • Experience with state reporting and developing and implementing plans of corrections.
  • Knowledge of practices, procedures, laws, regulations, and guidelines governing long-term care in Kansas.
  • Ability to implement and interpret department goals, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to follow and uphold company policies on harassment and compliance.
  • 5 years of supervisory and nurse management experience.
