Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele role specializing in ortho, spine, and surgical cases, requiring a KS or compact license and recent telemetry experience.

• Position is on a Med/Surg Tele unit with a focus on ortho, spine, general surgery, bariatric, gynecological, urology, and related medical cases
• Typical patient population includes individuals needing considerable physical assistance, with common diagnoses such as cellulitis, back pain, and kidney stones
• RN-to-patient ratios are typically 4:1 and may be up to 5:1
• CNA/PCT support is provided on the unit
• Telemetry rhythm interpretation and monitoring are required
• Heparin drips, TPN, and PCAs are routinely managed
• Work schedule consists of 12-hour night shifts from
• Floating to all acute care units is required
• Every other weekend is required
• There are no on-call responsibilities
• Unit holidays are covered based on operational needs
• Epic EMR is used on the unit
• Primary responsibilities include care for post-surgical, ortho, and acute medical patients with frequent mobility assistance needs
• Support from a teamwork-oriented unit with CNA/PCT staff
• A comprehensive orientation program includes orientation at multiple campuses and Epic EMR training
• First-time travelers and new graduates are not eligible for this position
• Epic EMR charting experience is preferred
• Nicotine-free workplace policy is enforced

• Active KS or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications are mandatory
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Telemetry experience within the last 18 months in a hospital setting is required
• Proficiency with telemetry rhythm interpretation
• Experience with general surgery, bariatric, gynecological, urology, and orthopedic care is necessary
