Unit Specifics:
· Number of Beds : 20 private
· Patient Ratios : 4:1 total patient care, 5:1 w/ a patient care tech
· Unit staffing description- (unit secretaries and tech availability) : 1 tech usually 4-5 nurses on the floor
· Type of equipment : Alaris IV Pumps, CADD epidural, Alaris PCA, Pyxis Medication Dispensing Machine, telemetry, EKG, bladder scanner, wound vacs, capnostream machines, SCD Pumps
· Documentation system:
Medi tech
· Scheduling requirements: Every 3 rd weekend, two Mondays and Fridays per 4 week scheduling period
· On Call Requirements:
· Floating policy: To like medical/surgical/telemetry units including ortho neuro center, med/tele, 4N, CDU Patient Experience requirements: high paced unit

Advanced skills needed: understanding of post-operative care
Procedures performed on unit: Ostomy management, ostomy irrigation, NGT placement and management, Foley catheter placement and maintenance, central line management, JP drains, wound management, IV starts, blood administration, nutritional supplementation including but not limited to TPN, G/J tubes
Certifications
