Position: Territory Sales Representative – Great Plains

We are hiring a Territory Sales Representative who will be responsible for driving incremental volume growth and sustaining existing volume in food service accounts in the Great Plains (KC metro, Kansas, Nebraska, as well as Southern Missouri (Springfield)). This is a home‑office role based ideally in the Kansas City metro area. If you are a go‑getter, enjoy getting in front of customers and have a passion for food – this is your dream job!

Responsibilities
  • Maximize commercial and non‑commercial sales for approximately 60+ accounts in the assigned territory by effectively penetrating accounts, driving contract compliance, and increasing sales.
  • Manage broad‑line distributors in the market by developing strategic marketing plans to engage DSRs, corporate chefs, and business development managers to expand reach/grow sales with end‑user operators.
  • Collaborate with teammates to coordinate sales activities at the customer account level.
  • Develop operator business plans in conjunction with market plans.
  • Support and execute product presentations and demonstrations in commercial food service kitchens.
  • Attend sales meetings, training sessions, food shows, and industry events to network with prospective accounts.
  • Ensure accurate operator sales activity is recorded via centralized reporting system,
  • Follow the sales process that includes gathering information, uncovering needs, presenting features and benefits, providing solutions, and closing sales with focus on assigned operators.
  • Help lead distributor and operator events in the region.
  • Travel locally in the market 3 to 4 days per week with a few overnights per month.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or Culinary Arts degree (or equivalent years of sales experience) and 2+ years of experience in the food service industry.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) and a sales CRM system.
  • Intermediate proficiency in operating a personal computer in a Windows environment.
  • Intermediate proficiency with numeric data analysis.
  • Ability to navigate sales reporting systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with distributors and/or managing channels of distribution.
  • Ability to build business relationships and present information in group settings.
  • Some travel required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Food service sales experience.
  • Previous experience conducting sales calls in commercial kitchens and preparing food as part of the sales process.
  • Current relationships in food service sales with distribution and/or operators.
Compensation and Benefits

The base salary range for this position is $58,500 – $97,500 annually, with eligibility for a 15% annual incentive bonus based on organizational performance plus a monthly car allowance. The range reflects various factors including education, skills, work experience, certifications, and geography.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • 1–3 years of related experience in the food service industry with a sales background or equivalent.
  • Intermediate proficiency in operating a personal computer in a Windows environment, including Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook.
  • Intermediate proficiency in numeric data analysis.
  • Ability to navigate sales reporting systems, communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, present information in group settings, and demonstrate a value‑added sales approach with the ability to build business relationships.
