Overview
Calamar is a developer of Connect
55+ active adult independent living communities located across the United States. We are seeking an experienced, hands‑on Maintenance Technician to help maintain and improve our facilities. Base pay range is $20.00/hr – $25.00/hr, with additional monthly commission.
Monday to Friday – On call as needed.
Responsibilities- Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure tools, equipment, and machines continue to run smoothly.
- Paint and repair ceilings, windows, doors, floors, woodwork, plaster, drywall, and other structures.
- Repair/replace/reassemble defective equipment parts using hand tools and power tools.
- Maintain an exceptional knowledge of hand and power tools; ask questions to understand proper use and care.
- Maintain work site, equipment/supply rooms in a neat and organized manner; clean and store tools and materials after use.
- Use common hand and power tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, as well as precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
- Order parts, supplies, and equipment from catalogs, suppliers, or storerooms.
- Daily meeting with Property Manager for work orders, urgency, satisfaction, and resident care.
- Maintain accurate mechanical and other building equipment records and inspection reports.
- Log all work performed daily including site, service description, length of service, and completion percentage.
- Be a leader in setting a standard of excellence in maintenance, quality, and customer service.
- Inspect grounds and common areas of properties based on Calamar's quality standards.
- Be proactive in addressing all problems identified through inspections.
- Attend and participate in all safety meetings and apply information learned.
- Notify the Leasing Manager of all problems reported by tenants or improper tenant activities or rule violations.
- Listen with empathy to tenant issues and concerns.
- Prior experience in building, apartment complex, or senior living is a plus.
