Position Title and Salary: Court Services Officer I, grade 36 $ 28.78 hourly

This position is part of the Court Services Domestic team. The Court Services Officer I performs mediation, conciliation, expedited child interviews, and child custody evaluations under the jurisdiction of the District Court.

• Conduct custody evaluations and child interviews, communicating with parents, children, and relevant references.
• Perform home visits as required.
• Prepare detailed reports for the Court and provide recommendations in the best interest of the child regarding custody, parenting time, or parenting concerns.
• Facilitate mediation and conciliation services, guiding parties toward mutual agreement and maintaining control during conflicts.
• Produce comprehensive reports summarizing the services provided.

• Bachelor’s degree in social services or a related field.
• Excellent attention to detail, strong organizational and time‑management skills.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Ability to remain calm in stressful situations, work independently, and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
• Exceptional writing skills (a writing sample will be required).
• Must be able to pass a fingerprint‑based criminal background check.

• Current certification in Mediation/Conciliation.
• Experience working with family courts, high‑conflict families, or families undergoing separation.
