Johnson County Transit Bus Driver – Transdev North America
Location: Olathe, KS
Compensation & Benefits- $25.60 – $28.95 per hour (Union Collective Bargaining Agreement Pay Scale), starting pay $25.60 with progression to $28.95 over 4 years.
- Sign‑On Bonus: $3,000.
- Vacation after 1 year of service.
- Paid training to obtain a Class B CDL and Class B CDL permit.
- Paid sick leave: 4 days every January 1st.

- Execute flawless operations by meticulously following designated routes and schedules while adhering to stringent safety protocols and traffic regulations.
- Exhibit exceptional passenger care, ensuring smooth boarding, comfortable rides, and timely disembarkation for all.
- Champion vehicle safety through comprehensive pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections, promptly reporting any maintenance issues, and maintaining cleanliness and safety equipment readiness.
- Uphold company policies and procedures rigorously, including seat belt enforcement, emergency response preparedness, and compliance with regulatory mandates.
- Other duties as required.
- 21 years or older.
- Must hold a valid CDL (or permit);
Class A or B CDL with passenger and airbrake endorsements required; training available for candidates with a permit. - Minimum 3 years of driving experience (personal or professional).
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Must be able to work shifts or flexible schedules as needed.
- Subject to DOT drug testing and physical; DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 prohibits use of schedule I drugs.
- Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions; 100% of the job is performed outside, alone, and in remote locations.
- Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces.
- Push and pull objects up to 50 pounds; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level.
- Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing duties; tolerate exposure to dust, vehicle fumes, and noise.
- Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
- Successfully pass a pre‑employment drug screen.
