Under the direct supervision of the Camp Coordinator, the Art Specialist implements and assists in the specialty area of Arts & Crafts for the seasonal day camp, group rentals, and year‑round rentals. Provides a safe and quality experience to children, members and staff focused on our YMCA core values of caring, honesty, inclusion, respect, and responsibility.

- Completes mandatory staff trainings (in person and online); participates in camp meetings, functions, orientation, family nights, and carnival.
- Arrives at your designated location at scheduled time, dressed appropriately, wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (sneakers and socks, prepared for pool, and prepared to work).
- Adheres to all program and CDC standards including safety and cleanliness; sanitizes areas before and after use; assists in maintaining equipment and supplies; inspects all areas and equipment before, during, and after each use; returns to proper storage spaces after each usage.
- Supervises and actively participates with scheduled groups of campers/participants.
- Plans and implements program activities, following a designed schedule, that are developmentally appropriate and consistent with the YMCA core values; maintains accurate attendance and safety records, inventory, and equipment use logs.
- Is prepared for first aid and medical emergencies as described in the Camp Training Manual.
- Maintains positive relations and provides support to co‑workers; role‑models teamwork and sportsmanship.
- Is flexible, may be asked to substitute for other employees’ shifts or work beyond assigned shift to ensure safety and proper coverage.
- Available to cover lunch breaks during camp rotations.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience working with children, preferably in a camp setting.
- Enjoys and is physically able to work outdoors.
- CPR, First‑Aid, Epi‑pen, & AED certified prior to the start of camp.
USD $16.50/Hr. USD $18.00/Hr.
