• Inventory – maintains accurate inventories of medications and supplies, supports drug inventory process including rotation and restocking.
• Regulatory compliance – maintains safe and clean work area complying with procedures, rules, regulations.
• Communication and teamwork – communicates with team members, physicians and patients effectively.
• Prepares intravenous admixtures under supervision of registered pharmacist; labels and dispenses inpatient unit dose medications; delivers medications to patient care areas.
• Assists in compounding medication (weighing, measuring, mixing, blending, filtering, distilling, emulsifying, titrating).
• Delivers and fills controlled substances to nursing units' ADC, reconciling narcotic discrepancies daily.
• Prepares and loads/unloads medications into ADC with barcode scanning.
• Answers phone calls, directs to proper personnel.
• Prepares and packages hazardous medications requiring special handling.
• Maintains all required paperwork, legal documents, records for all medications.
• Participates in quality‑assurance and safety activities related to drug usage, infection control, hazard handling.
• Assumes responsibility for safe performance, reports hazards.
• Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
• Adheres to HMH organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Education,

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED) or equivalent.
• Effective oral and written English communication.
• Strong multitasking ability.
• Cooperative teamwork willingness.

• At least one year of pharmacy experience (outpatient or inpatient).

• Valid New Jersey Pharmacy Technician license.
• PTCB or ExCPT certification required within 6 months of start.

Lifts minimum 5 lbs, pushes/pulls 5 lbs. Stands minimum 4 hours a day.

Minimum rate of $22.77 per hour.
