Responsibilities- Assessment: Collects comprehensive data pertinent to the patient’s health or situation; performs age and disease specific assessment independently; recognizes clinical status changes; identifies variables in patient/family education needs.
- Plan: Develops a plan of care prescribing strategies and interventions to attain expected outcomes; formulates patient/family centered goals based on assessment data; coordinates a patient‑focused plan of care.
- Implementation: Communicates, coordinates, and implements the plan of care; provides ongoing communication with patient, family, and health‑care team; documents events; administers medications using bar‑scanning technology; performs multidisciplinary discharging of patients.
- Evaluation: Evaluates progress toward attainment of outcomes; utilizes critical thinking skills to achieve desired patient outcomes; initiates interventions related to patient’s change in condition and unexpected responses to care.
- Additional Responsibilities: Identifies ethical issues; enhances patient satisfaction; maintains required competencies and certifications; adheres to the American Nurses Association Code; lifts a minimum of 35 lbs., pushes and pulls a minimum of 10 lbs., and stands a minimum of 6 hours a day; performs other duties and projects as assigned.
- A minimum of an Associate in Nursing or diploma in Nursing degree.
- BSN in progress and/or willing to acquire within three (3) years of hire.
- Six (6) or more months of relevant nursing experience or active participation in Hackensack Meridian Health’s Nurse Residency Program.
- Ability to learn quickly, adapt to changing patient needs, demonstrate strong teamwork and dedication to ongoing education; passion to deliver high‑quality care with a focus on patient satisfaction.
- National Certification in area of specialty preferred when eligible.
- Current and valid Registered Nurse license to work at the assigned HMH location by date of hire.
- Basic Life Support/CPR certification by the American Heart Association required within 60 days of hire.
Starting at $44.24 hourly. The posted rate is a reasonable good‑faith estimate of the minimum base pay at the time of posting. It does not reflect the full value of the full‑time benefits package.
