The Friendship School, a public magnet early childhood school with a museum-themed approach to learning, is seeking a qualified PK/K Teacher to support students through a small classroom general education intervention setting. Serving nearly 500 PK and Kindergarten students, Friendship School is a collaborative and inclusive learning community focused on meeting the needs of all learners.
Position OverviewThis teacher will work in a small classroom environment providing targeted intervention supports to PK and K students who need additional support to be successful in a full classroom setting. The role focuses on academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth, with the goal of supporting students’ success in their general education classrooms.
Qualifications- CT teaching certification or evidence of eligibility
- Prior PK/K classroom teaching experience
- Experience supporting students through MTSS plans and targeted interventions
- Strong ability to communicate and collaborate with multiple professionals, including classroom teachers, specialists, and support staff
- Experience creating and implementing effective behavior management guidelines
- Ability to establish consistent routines and procedures that support student growth and success
- Ability to collect, analyze, and act upon student data to inform instruction and interventions
- Strong understanding of early childhood development and inclusive practices
